Originally from El Paso, Texas, I'm currently living in Los Angeles with my husband, daughter, a senior Chihuahua, traviesa cat, and my plantitas. I hold a Ph.D. in Urban Education Policy from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. I am a fronteriza studying the borderlands of higher education, Hispanic-serving institutions, organizational culture, equity in decision-making, and Chicana feminisms in higher education. I am a qualitative researcher and storyteller. As a creative non-fiction writer, I believe in the importance of sharing counternarratives/countertestimonios to critique and transform higher education. Connect with me -- I love expanding my scholar family.
